Scheme

NightSafe has been developed by and implemented by the Irish Nightclub Industry Association. There has been significant cost in developing NightSafe, and ongoing costs in running the initiative. INIA members have already contributed to this through their annual membership. We do however feel it will benefit all Nightclub operators, and therefore, non-members can benefit from taking part in NightSafe.

INIA Member Costs €600
Non INIA Member Costs €1600

Included in the above is the cost of an Independent Risk Assessment [ a pre-requisite ], cost of folder, manuals, documents, Independent NightSafe Assessment, and award signage [ indoor, outdoor & logo for online / printed material use.

The above are year 1 costs, which will marginally decrease in subsequent years. Pricing will be set by agreement of the National Executive Committee of the INIA.

Assessment

Following the application process, each nightclub will receive a visit from an assessor, who will undertake an in-depth assessment of the nightclub against the NightSafe criteria.

This assessment is completely objective, with defined burdens of proof for each essential criteria. For example, by law your Door Supervisors are required to be licensed by the Private Security Authority. In this case, the burden of proof, will be physical proof of licensing for each and every Door Supervisor on your roster.

This independent assessment has only two possible outcomes, pass or fail. For venues who fail, which require specific attention on certain criteria, a further assessment will be arranged, where the assessor will re-visit, with specific emphasis on the criteria which required attention.
